WWE Retires Divas Championship And Unveils New WWE Women's Championship

During the WrestleMania 32 preshow on Sunday night, WWE announced that the Divas championship was officially being retired in favor of a new women's title that would be handed out later in the night.

WWE Hall of Famer Amy Dumas better known by her wrestling moniker Lita -- made the announcement during WrestleMania 32 Kick Off Showwhile unveiling the brand new championship belt.

The women's championship dates back more than 50 years with names like the Fabulous Moolah, Wendi Richter, Alundra Blayze, Sable and Lita holding the title.
