Dwayne Johnson and Jason Statham Starrer 'Hobbs and Shaw' took the #1 spot at box office on the weekend

According to a Box Office Status Report by Box Office Mojo, Universal Studios Fast & Furious spin off “Hobbs & Shaw” starring Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and Jason Statham has taken the number #1 spot at this weekend’s box office bringing in an estimated $180 million globally.

The Movie debuted in a total of 4,253 theaters this weekend (the second widest release in the Fast & Furious franchise) with an estimated $60.8 million, domestically which is said to be in line with pre-weekend expectations.The film debuted at #1 in 52 of the markets it opened, with Russia leading the way with an estimated at $8.1 million including India, Indonesia, UK, Germany and Australia being the top contributors.

The Rock and Roman Reigns in Hobbs and Shaw

Hobbs & Shaw will open in China on August 23, which is a guarantee that this movie will be a top performer on Box Office for quite sometime. The Film also co-stars WWE Superstar Roman Reigns, Dwayne Johnson’s real life cousin as the brother of Luke Hobbs(i.e The Rock's Character).
