The night began with the start of the 2025 AEW Continental Classic a tournament already turning heads as early favorites fell and dark-horse contenders rose.
In Gold League action, Kyle Fletcher upset defending champion Kazuchika Okada for the second year in a row securing a huge win and early points in the tournament. Just as shocking was Kevin Knight’s victory over Darby Allin, a result few saw coming. The Blue League was no less eventful. Jon Moxley submitted Máscara Dorada to claim a strong start while Claudio Castagnoli scored an authoritative pinfall over Orange Cassidy, giving early indication that the tournament could shake up the mid-card hierarchy.
On the women’s side the tag-team tournament heated up as Babes of Wrath (Willow Nightingale & Harley Cameron) earned their spot in the finals by defeating Sisters of Sin (Julia Hart & Skye Blue) in a hard-fought semifinal. Meanwhile the newly crowned world champion Samoa Joe and his faction celebrated his win from Full Gear — but were interrupted by a surprise appearance from Swerve Strickland and Hangman Adam Page who stormed the ring with chains and chaos.
