AEW’s Rebel Shares Emotional Update on Cancer Battle


AEW star Rebel (Tanea Brooks) has revealed she is battling primary pulmonary lymphoma, a rare type of lung cancer Nonhodgkinslymphoma, The diagnosis came after nearly a year of misidentified symptoms, during which doctors initially believed she had a fungal infection. Only later did specialists discover the true cause behind her worsening condition.

Rebel also shared that she is dealing with a Functional Neurological Disorder, affecting her ability to walk, speak, and use her right hand. She is currently fighting a serious infection and undergoing IV antibiotics, and doctors have told her she must recover fully before she can begin cancer treatment. She hopes to start therapy in early 2026.

Earlier this year, Rebel underwent successful surgery to remove a tumor, but she acknowledged that the road ahead remains challenging. Despite everything, she remains positive and determined, promising fans that she intends to “kick its ass” once treatment begins.

Absent from AEW television since 2022, Rebel continues to receive overwhelming support from fans and fellow wrestlers. Her honesty and strength throughout this battle have deeply moved the wrestling community, which stands firmly behind her as she continues her fight.
