Andrade Sets the Record Straight on His AEW Contract Situation

Andrade has finally addressed the confusion surrounding his status with All Elite Wrestling and his comments have surprised many fans. After weeks of speculation about whether he was officially part of AEW, the former WWE and AEW star made it clear that he never signed an actual contract with the company. He explained that he had positive discussions with AEW management and there was a verbal understanding, but he insists that he never put his signature on any official agreement. His appearance on AEW television earlier this year led fans to believe that he was back with the company full time but he now says that this was done without a formal contract in place.

The situation became even more complicated after his WWE release in 2025 which he claims included a year long worldwide non compete clause. According to Andrade this clause was triggered the moment he showed up on AEW programming. Since then he has been unable to wrestle anywhere despite wanting to continue his career. He revealed that he did not know the clause would activate in that way and that it has placed him in an unexpected professional pause. His brief AEW return created excitement but it also restarted restrictions he believed he was done with.

Andrade confirmed that his legal team is now negotiating with WWE to shorten or remove the non compete period. He explained that challenging the clause in court is possible but the process would be long and expensive so he hopes an agreement with WWE can settle the issue sooner. He also mentioned that he has already served several months of the restriction and is eager to return to the ring once the legal situation is resolved.
