Saraya has openly admitted that she fell out of love with wrestling toward the end of her AEW stint. She was still recovering mentally from her long battle with neck injuries and felt she wasn’t performing at her best. The time away, however, has changed everything. She says she’s regained her passion and even feels the itch to get back into training, revealing plans to resume in-ring work in early 2026.
A key part of that preparation could take place at Natalya’s famous Dungeon in Florida, where Saraya has been invited to sharpen her fundamentals and rebuild her physical confidence. She is determined not just to return but to return better, saying she wants to be able to wrestle at or above her NXT-era level, when she first broke out as Paige.
Her future remains open. Saraya has not ruled out returning to WWE, admitting she still loves the company and would consider stepping back into the Paige persona if the circumstances were right. AEW is also not out of the question for her, especially with her exit reportedly being mutual and respectful. But for now, she’s letting her body and passion guide her rather than contracts or deadlines.
Excerpt from her Talk with Toronto Sun:
“I’ve had a wonderful year to kind of dip my toe into the outside of wrestling world, and it’s been so wonderful … once you’re a wrestler, you always miss it.”
“I am starting to get the bug for it again. I went through a stage where I kind of like fell out of love with it for a second … I need to take a break from it … that was the whole goal.”
“I’ve just found this new love for it again … and I found this new passion for it again.”
“I’m gonna get into training in January and we’ll see where that takes me.”
“If I was to ever come back … not saying I am, but … I want to be at the top of my game and be wrestling better than I was back when I was in NXT. So that’s my goal.”
One thing is clear: the door to wrestling has not closed for Saraya. Her tone today is hopeful, excited, and far more confident than in years past. Whether it’s in WWE, AEW, or somewhere entirely new, fans may soon witness a fully recharged Saraya stepping back into the ring with the hunger that made her a trailblazer in the first place.
If her return does happen, it won’t be a nostalgia act. It will be a comeback built on maturity, hard work, and the fire she believes she lost and has finally found again.
