AEW has built a reputation for giving wrestlers opportunities to shine but even with the freedom to showcase talent some performers have struggled to meet expectations. A few names stand out as examples of wrestlers who had the tools to succeed but never fully realized their potential.
Miro entered AEW with high anticipation and his Redeemer persona immediately drew attention. Despite his charisma and in ring ability he experienced long periods away from television and was placed in storylines that did not fully highlight his strengths. These inconsistencies limited his chances to become a dominant force and prevented him from achieving the main event status many believed he deserved.
Andrade El Idolo is another example of a talent whose skills and star power were not fully utilized. He moved between brief feuds and alliances that failed to leave a lasting impact. While he displayed moments of excellence he was never given a storyline long enough to solidify a strong position in the company and this left fans disappointed in his underused potential.
Wardlow also struggled to maintain momentum after a strong rise during the MJF storyline and a TNT Championship victory. Despite his popularity and size he faced inconsistent booking and long stretches without meaningful matches. The lack of continuity made it difficult for him to capitalize on fan support and slowed his ascent toward the top of the card.
