MotoGP legend Kevin Schwantz has shared his perspective on Pecco Bagnaia’s difficult 2025 season and believes the Italian rider will need to follow a long road to regain consistent results. Bagnaia has faced challenges adapting to the GP25 machine and has struggled to match the pace of his teammate Marc Márquez, whose dominant form has highlighted the gap. Schwantz emphasized that relying on Márquez’s setup and riding style will not automatically solve Bagnaia’s problems because each rider must find what works best for themselves on the bike.
According to Schwantz Bagnaia will need to rebuild his confidence and gradually rediscover the connection with his bike that allowed him to win races in previous seasons. This process will require patience adjustments in technique and possibly a shift in mindset as he works to overcome both the physical and mental challenges of racing at the highest level. Analysts have noted that the psychological pressures of racing alongside a dominant teammate can add stress and affect performance, making this recovery period even more critical.
Despite the setbacks Bagnaia’s talent is undeniable and there is optimism that with focused effort and careful strategy he can return to competitive form.
