Apple TV has acquired the rights to adapt Brandon Sandersons entire Cosmere universe into film and television projects. This ambitious deal includes some of Sandersons most popular works such as Mistborn and The Stormlight Archive and is considered unprecedented in terms of the creative control granted to an author.
Under the agreement Sanderson will serve as a writer and producer, giving him significant influence over how his complex and interconnected fantasy world is translated to the screen. Mistborn is expected to be adapted as a feature film or a film series while The Stormlight Archive is planned as a television series. Both projects are in the early stages of development with no official release dates announced.
The Cosmere universe has sold millions of copies worldwide and has a devoted fan base. Apple TV aims to bring the rich and expansive world to life while maintaining the integrity of Sandersons storytelling.
