Australia Finish Day One at 326 for Eight in Third Ashes Test

Australia ended day one of the third Ashes Test against England at 326 for eight at the Adelaide Oval. The hosts won the toss and chose to bat in hot conditions, facing an early challenge from the English bowling attack. Alex Carey was the standout performer scoring a well‑timed century on his home ground and guiding the Australian innings through difficult periods. Usman Khawaja contributed an important 82, helping to stabilize the middle order after early wickets fell.

England’s bowlers made inroads with Jofra Archer taking three key wickets and spinner Will Jacks adding two more. Despite the pressure, Australia managed to build a competitive total with Mitchell Starc remaining unbeaten on 33 and Nathan Lyon yet to score.
